For RDO10 we have decided on the theme of The Next Chapter. This is to reflect the fundamental shifts taking place across the world which we have witnessed in the last couple of decades, that are only set to become ever more significant. The impacts of these technologically driven changes can be seen in almost all areas of our lives and economic sectors including employment, finance, education, healthcare, shopping, leisure and travel and tourism. While of course there have been both positive and negative consequences of this technological revolution, what is almost certain is that returning to how things used to be done is highly unlikely as new innovations continue to be made. Thus it is extremely important to understand how these developments will affect our business and the world in which we live.
Goals of the Conference
The most important goal of RDO10 is to educate and inform attendees on various new global technological, economic and lifestyle developments taking place that will impact and change our industry, in order to help our members to become better prepared for what is to come. Just like with the various innovations of the last two decades such as high speed internet, smartphones, social media, review sites and online booking, it is vital to be ready for what’s next on the horizon. There will be a variety of fascinating sessions presented by engaging and forward-thinking speakers, focused on important topics such as The importance of Future Proofing, AI & Automation, Trust & Reputation and much more, to compliment the usual legislative and enforcement update. It is no use pretending these changes aren’t right around the corner, or to imagine it won’t affect our industry. Instead we need to look at where we are as an industry and consider if we have the capability to move forward successfully by considering what the next 10 years will bring, where will the industry be, are our products and services future proof, and what challenges and opportunities lay ahead to turn the page and move onto the next chapter.
